Spring Birds
CROSS STITCH PATTERN DESIGNED BY Perrette Samouiloff
With her immense talent, cross stitch designer Perrette Samouiloff depicts all kinds of Spring birds, each in very natural positions, as if about to fly off or suddently turn round as if they had heard us. The graceful branches of fruit trees in full bloom also contribute to the charm of this pattern.
The designer acknowledges that she has taken some artistic licence in the tones of the birds' feathers, but we can still easily recognize each species : at the top left a blue tit (chickadee), just below a goldfinch and next to it a gray wagtail. At the bottom left a pair of orioles and perched on the branch at the bottom right, a finch.
Gracing the pattern are large trees with barely opened leaves, in a very soft shade of green. Two children carry armfuls of flowers.
Once your stitching is complete, save your chart. You will be able to reuse some of the elements, in particular the different motifs of birds and flowers, for other projects.
The cross-stitch chart includes some 3/4 cross-stitch, mainly to sharpen tip of the beak of each bird.
