Like its counterpart the Spring Cat, Barbara Ana's Summer Cat is wearing a ballooning dress, that merges into a wonderful landscape.
The top part of the dress is a red corset top with a round neckline and asymetric sleeves, a giant red ruby pendant hangs from the cat's neck.
Her white arms are spread out, holding in one hand a pot of strawberries - a central motif also featured on her top hat , and in the other a toy sailboat.
Her crinoline-shaped skirt is split patchwork-like into 3 parts, with a central seascape scene, showing village houses and and trees on the steep banks, and a lighthouse closing the bay. A strong sun shines in the background leaving the sailboats and hot air balloons appearing only as silhouettes. A shoal of colorful fish fill the sea. It is indeed amazing how much detail the designer manages to fit into the tiny area.
The piece is stitched on 32ct olive green Murano evenweave from Zweigart.
