CHART PACK:
Pins and Needles Needlework Wallet
COUNTED CROSS STITCH PATTERN BY MURIEL BERCEVILLE - COUNTED CROSS STITCH
This handy needlework organiser will keep your needles sorted by size and your pins nice and tidy. There's also a scissor case to keep them secure when carrying your projects around. The cover folds in two, functioning as a wallet.
The outer pattern was directly inspired from a 19th century Alphabet sampler and adapted by Muriel Berceville.
The project also includes detailed instructions for stitching and mounting the needlebook, scissor case and tiny biscornu-shaped pincushion. Some finer elements such as the text are cross stitched over one thread. Model shown is in French but an English translation of the text to stitch is provided.
The chart is monochrome but in the example shown, an overdyed red was used to create a deliberately faded effect to create an antique feel. Designer Muriel Berceville uses a German floss from the Tentakulum range but if you find it hard to source, you can select any red overdyed thread that gently "fades" to paler red.
Part of the fun is sourcing your materials in matching colors. You will need needlework linen, contrasting fabric for the lining, decorative pins and button, and a fine ribbon.
