Birds in the garden
CROSS STITCH PATTERN, DESIGNED BY Perrette Samouiloff
Cross stitch designer Perrette Samouiloff excels at depicting birds, capturing the amazing positions of their lightweight body as they tip forward, hang from the most fragile stem or swiftly swing their head from side to side. Each bird is different, perfectly balanced, bright eyed, beak pointed to whatever has just caught their attention.
The pattern is set in a garden with children watching the birds. Birds depicted include coal tits, blue tits, nuthatches, a bullfinch, wrens and a red robin, each with a careful selection of colors matching their feathers.
The pattern is best stitched on a white or offwhite evenweave or linen. It includes 3/4 cross stitches, stitched in a single strand, used for the bird beaks, as well as for providing a dimensional effect. The exquisite bird cage is a combination of backstitch and long stitch.
A cross stitch pattern by Perrette Samouiloff.
