AWBOW!
CROSS STITCH PATTERN, DESIGNED BY Barbara Ana Designs
AWBOW! stands for A Whole Bunch of Weirdness and started in Barbara Ana's mind as a portrait of a mysterious tortoise-like-but-winged creature, with an oversize head bearing a crown, and hypnotic eyes. The designer suddenly felt the urge to fill in the surroundings. Strange looking plants grew, ever more numerous, with huge petals and oversize seeds, until the whole design turned into a lush garden of paradise.
As for many Barbara Ana patterns, some elements of the design are reminiscent of pre-hispanic motifs, yet reinterpreted in a totally modern and creative way.
The bright embroidery colors are enhanced by the black background, a straightforward 14ct Aida which keeps the stitching easy on the eyes.
The finished pattern is quite large measuring almost 8 inch wide by 12 inch high (20 x 30 cm) and could easily be turned into a decorative tote bag or a cushion cover.
