Yellow House Sampler
CROSS STITCH PATTERN DESIGNED BY RIVERDRIFT HOUSE
In the designer's own words:
“Based on English samplers of the early 19th century - largely symmetrical with just one or two colour variants here and there - I designed this square sampler for the modern stitcher to give a fast finished result. It includes much of the popular motif stitching of the time - a big house, peacocks and other birds, deer, bowl of fruits, hearts, plants and crowns, alphabet and numerals, all set within a delicate trailing berry border.”
Creative Poppy says:
The beauty of this sampler is its strong color scheme, with the dominant ochre yellow contrasting with coral red and Prussian blue. There are only 8 colors of DMC embroidery thread used in this sampler, yet the bright colors stand out making it unique and fun to stitch too.
