It's exactly 8 o'clock, the door busts open, and out comes the cuckoo chanting its song, repeated eight times, while two mischievous boys have fun swinging on the pine-cone shaped clocks weights.
Red lace-like borders of stars, snow flakes and hearts frame the pattern, with Christmas ornaments and baubles hanging below.
A children's choir is singing Christmas carols, accompanied by musicians playing the violin and flute, their instruments depicted in beautiful detail.
The design comes in a delightful palette of reds, purple and browns. It is mostly worked in full cross stitches with a couple of details in backstitch (flute keys), longstitch (violin bows), and 3/4 cross stitch (birds beak).
