1920's fashion: Lady at the wheel
PATTERN DESIGNED BY PERRETTE SAMOUILOFF

Ah, the Roaring Twenties and their unique style. For the first time, women cut their hair short, abandonned long skirts and tight fitting corsets for a brand new freedom: elegant but light and practical dresses - perfect for either driving or dancing the Charleston!

Like all her wonderful designs picturing specific periods in time, Perrette Samouiloff captures the spirit of the day and every fashion detail of the times when a passing automobile would catch everyone's eye.

If women are in the spotlight in the upper part of the model - including one at the wheel of the beautiful convertible, other interesting characters build a complete picture: a cyclist passing by in a hurry, well-dressed and well-behaved children holding a hoop and watching in awe, and finally an elegant elderly man, crossing the street with his cane.

When stitching this pattern, you can play with the layout of the pattern in many ways, moving the characters in the position of your choice. For example group man and woman side by side to form a couple. Or play with the look exchanged between the 2 women: are they just noticing the car and its driver or glancing at each other with a hint of jealousy?

A cross stitch pattern by Perrette Samouiloff.
