The Tulip
CROSS STITCH PATTERN DESIGNED BY Perrette Samouiloff
Perfect balance and a cheerful palette of colors are what make this spring pattern so attractive. The pattern is bursting with life, nature in full bloom, birds hopping around in the white berry bushes, children busy in the garden, planting a tulip.
Perrette Samouiloff has this particular talent for depicting nature, wild flowers, berries, birds... The designer likes to add lighter touches here and there among her full cross stitches, working some stitches in a single strand, in 3/4 cross stitches, letting the fabric show behind the stitch as if light was shining through. Thus these stitches add a touch of transparency to the petals of the tulip and the iris, and create a spot of light on the balls of white berries.
The design is circular and measures about 7"(18cm). It can be framed either in an 8"x8" (20 x 20 cm) frame or a 8" or 10" (20 cm or 25 cm) embroidery hoop.
