COUNTED CROSS STITCH CHART BY PERRETTE SAMOUILOFF
Simple and sweet, and full of tenderness, this is Perrette's Samouiloff's take on the Wedding sampler. The chart features a wreath and border at the top, where the initials of the bride and groom can be stitched, as well as the date of the wedding. In the medium and lower part, cute little girls carry flowers and play among the rose trees.
A lot of attention is placed to detail, including the beaks of the doves finished in 3/4 cross stitch and various details of the flowers in backstitch.
The pattern is derived from the larger Wedding chart. It includes an alphabet of monograms as well as numbers for personalization . Depending on your choice of fabric, you may want to increase the number of strands used for stitching the monograms and dates to provide a dimensional effect. Alternatively you could stitch these parts in petite stitch (replace one cross stitch with 4 stitched over a single thread).
Finishing tips: As an alternative to framing, the sampler will look great hanging banner-like on a piece of wood. You'll need two pieces of wood with a round section. Fold back the fabric at both top and bottom ends and sew a line for sliding onto the piece of wood. Distance from top = 1 1/2 times the section of the wood. Make a small slit at both ends of the piece used for the top. Use clear transparent nylon thread for hanging. Knot both ends and secure nylon thread ends in the slits.
