COUNTED CROSS STITCH CHART BY PERRETTE SAMOUILOFF
This is a very useful resource for cross stitchers that you will use over and over again. Not only does it include 15 borders, but also 3 frame elements and corners. Perrette Samouiloff is a an expert in designing needlework borders and creates the most exquisite and original motifs, full of rich detail in a combination of cross stitch, backstitch, French knots and with occasional 3/4 cross stitch for some details.
The cross stitch patterns can be can be stitched individually, but a global layout is also included with the chart which you can stitch or use for creating combinations of your own. The borders come in both horizontal and vertical bands. Combine them with the frames to decorate box covers, needlebooks, pincushions, pinkeeps…. Use individual borders for the sides of boxes. Vertical bands are ideal for bookmarks, book covers and cards.
The charts include several combinations for frames, stitched using either 2 or 4 corner motifs.
The motifs include little animals, flowers and geometric ornaments.
There are 3 embroidery floss colors used for the chart, in lovely hues of red, burgundy and pink, from the DMC Color variations range. Yet you could perfectly decide to use alternative overdyed colors of your own choice, or stitch the whole design in monochrome.
