Frida Kathlo
CROSS STITCH PATTERN DESIGNED BY Barbara Ana Designs
Whimsical as ever, here's a design* that shows Barbara Ana's creative process and how her mind wanders along unexpected tracks. After numerous tributes to Frida Kahlo, the designer turns her attention to another of her leitmotivs, cats, and a fascination for depicting eyes in cross stitch. This is not her first cat personification as you can see in her earlier Cattitude design.
*Initially offered as a total surprise in the "Stitch along with me" SAL.
The cross stitch chart features colorful tones with an amazing flower and leaf crown. The blouse is very decorative too, in a patchwork of textile and embroidered patterns, contrasting with the darker tones of the "cat" character.
The cross stitch pattern lists 13 colors all DMC stranded cotton except for 1 Kreinik Gold metallic. The stunning duck blue background fabric is 32ct Murano (Lugana) from Zweigart. It is a 52% cotton, 48% modal evenweave, easy to stitch, as well as to wash and iron once your work is finished.
