CHART PACK:
Up and Down the slope (the skiers)
CROSS STITCH PATTERN,
DESIGNED BY Perrette Samouiloff
Here's Up and Down the slope (the skiers), Perrette Samouiloff's delightful cross stitch design featuring little boys and girls learning to ski. Some are still learning to snow plough, other are whizzing down among the trees. All are having lots of fun in the snow.
There's a gentle border-like landscape motif in the far background, featuring a church spire and a village of chalets, smoke coming out of some chimneys, as if waiting for the children to come home.
The palette of color is warm, in a mix of purple, red and orange, contrasting with the white snow motifs and the natural linen background. The piece could be stitched on any background fabric color evocative of a snowy landscape, such as grey or blue, as long as there is just enough contrast for the white motifs to stand out.
