The City Mouse and the Country Mouse
CROSS STITCH PATTERN DESIGNED BY Gera! by Kyoko Maruoka
This cross stitch design tells the story of two mice.
The urban mouse is in her bedroom, just below the roof which is equipped with solar panels. She is seated on her bed and focused on her laptop. The room is quite bare, with just a digital alarm clock and a fan. The office is just as stripped down. The desk is tidy, no paper in sight, just a bottle of coke. Light filters through the blinds. A plant and a lime-colored office armchair bring a touch of green color to the contemporary settings. On the wall you may recognize the "Campbell soup" poster by Andy Warhol. Down below, on the ground floor, an exercise bike sits next to the microwave and the freezer. It seems like this little urban mouse does not waste much time cooking ...
The house opposite is inhabited by a little field mouse. Tablecloths, small curtains, comofortable quilts give it a cozy touch. A pendulum clock paces the hours. Logs sizzle in the fireplace. A pair of slippers are laid at the foot of the bed.
The little mouse is seated in the dining room, busy stitching in a comfortable chair. A cup of tea and a pin holder are at the ready on the table. Laundry is hanging to dry. On the ground floor, is a welcoming kitchen, with fruit on the table and potted plants on the window sill.
A cross stitch pattern by Gera! by Kyoko Maruoka, contrasting urban and country life, with plenty of humor and fun detail.
