CROSS STITCH PATTERN DESIGNED BY GERA! by Kyoko Maruoka
This cross stitch pattern by Japansese needlework designer Kyoko Maruoka (GERA!) illustrates the fun story tale written by the Grimm brothers.
The upper part of the stitched piece shows the donkey, dog, cat and rooster on their way to the town of Bremen, where they have decided to become musicians.
The central part of the piece shows the moment when, having discovered a house full of robbers, the animals decide on a plan to chase them away. The donkey stands in front of the window, the dog climbs on its back, the cat on the dog and the rooster stands on top. They simultaneously start a "concert" that scares the robbers away.
The layout of this cross stitch design is really charming, and so are the embroidery colors used. It will look real good in a child's bedroom, either framed on the wall or mounted as a cushion cover.
