Blackwork Lady with Parasol
CROSS STITCH PATTERN DESIGNED BY Lesley Teare Designs
A portrait of a yound woman, dancing boldly in her Flamenco outfit, parasol in hand. The folds of her gypsy skirt are adorned with small contrasting patterns, beautifully rendered in the technique of Blackwork, a counted stitch technique that combines backstitching, with areas colored in cross stitch.
The interior of the parasol is also decorated with small intricate patterns, forming decorative fabric panels.
The woman's face is remarkably rendered, her eyes bright and black, underlined by big eyebrows, her delicately drawn mouth and her impeccable hair adorned with a big rose.
This dancer portrait is presented as if it were a photo in an album, with decorative corners holding it in each corner.
The chart comes with an extensive Cross stitch Guide detailing all stitches.
A cross stitch pattern by Lesley Teare Designs.
