This design is by Kateryna, a cross stitch designer based in Ukraine, drawing her inspiration in folk tales and nature, with a little touch of magic. The acorn fairy is known for protecting all forest animals - rabbits, foxes, squirrels and owls.
The twig-like fairy, standing stiff and tall, is in sharp contrast with all the forest animals surrounding her: the owl perched on the tree, the squirrel leaping from branch to branch and the lovely red fox at her feet. Two rabbits leap up to greet her.
A lovely irregular acorn border completes the scene.
The pattern can be stitched on antique white, grey, or warm beige such as Witchelt/Permin's Beautiful beige linen.
